August 4th: Pre-season in Histon

Barnet's final pre-season fixture of 2007 took us to newly promoted Histon. We took advantage of the sun and enjoyed a day out in Cambridge, before taking the bus out onto the game.

After catching the early train up with John, Chris & Olly, we headed into Cambridge to have a look at one of the university colleges.

Back in the city, we headed down to the river, passing this rather strange sign. What's a Kettle Yard?

It was here that we were approached by a chap offering punting tours on the river, which we took up. We were with a few others in the boat, and it turned out some had paid almost twice as much as us. Nice.

The river was very busy with boats, while the Swans enjoyed the sunshine too.

Apparently this place was in one of the Harry Potter films.

More of the sights.

Cambridge reminded us of Amsterdam, with all the boats and bikes. Alas, we had to move on and took the bus up the Histon. This took us past a huge windmill which only enhanced the Dutch feeling.

The Bees strolled to a 4-0 win to round off a great day.
